WATCH PURSUIT
Finding the right timepiece...

One of the most recognizable watches ever made, and TAG Heuer's boldest design. The Monaco broke every rule when it launched in 1969: a square, water-resistant case (a first), one of the very first automatic chronographs, and originally a crown on the left. Its fame was sealed by a legendary early-'70s motor-racing film, and the blue-dial version has been an icon ever since. The current Monaco keeps the 39mm square case and runs TAG's in-house automatic chronograph (Calibre Heuer 02) with an 80-hour reserve, with a rotating cast of special and Gulf-livery editions. It's not a subtle watch, and it was never meant to be.
