A discontinued high-end line, so it's a pre-owned hunt now. Ananta ran roughly 2009 to 2012 as Seiko's attempt to push its mainstream brand upmarket, with case designs inspired by the Japanese katana: sharp, curved, blade-like forms finished with Zaratsu mirror polishing. It housed serious movements, including Spring Drive chronographs and moonphases alongside high-grade mechanicals. Seiko wound it down as Spring Drive consolidated under Grand Seiko. A short-lived, characterful piece of Seiko history for the collector who wants something unusual and out of production.
