The Rolex Sea-Dweller reference 16600 Tritium, released in 1988, is a robust and professional-grade diving watch. Featuring a 40.00 mm steel case with a solid caseback, it is equipped with a helium escape valve, distinguishing it from its Submariner counterpart. The dial showcases Tritium indexes, a characteristic of models produced up until 1998. Lacking the cyclops lens over the date, it offers a clean, unobstructed view of the time. This model remained in production until it was succeeded by the Deepsea 116660 in 2008.
