The Millenary is Audemars Piguet's beautiful oddball, about as far from a Royal Oak as the brand gets. Introduced in 1995, it's built around an oval case with the dial pushed dramatically off-center, and on later versions the balance wheel sits exposed on the dial side, so you watch the movement breathe as it runs. It's a genuinely divisive, hand-finished design that AP eventually steered toward women's watches before quietly retiring it from the active lineup, so it's pre-owned-only today. That's the opportunity: it trades well below anything with an octagonal bezel, making it one of the most affordable ways into real AP watchmaking, and the one you'll wear that nobody else recognizes.
