Vacheron Constantin 1972

A landmark VC design rather than a standing collection. The '1972' is the maison's asymmetric, lozenge-shaped watch, created to mark its Prestige de la France award that year, and it's one of the boldest shapes VC has ever made. It was reissued around 2013 as the '1972 Prestige' in white gold, and the design sits under the Historiques umbrella rather than as its own current line. Not in current production, so it's a pre-owned and limited-edition hunt. A striking, sculptural piece for a collector who wants VC at its most unconventional.
