The Symphonette was Longines' oval-cased women's collection, named after a 1940s radio orchestra the brand sponsored. Its signature was that elliptical case, an unusual shape that set it apart from the round and rectangular norm and gave it a soft, architectural elegance. These were dressy quartz watches, frequently finished with diamonds on the bezel and dial, in steel and two-tone. Longines has since discontinued the line, so it lives on the pre-owned market now. For a distinctive, elegant women's Longines with a shape you rarely see and a friendly secondary-market price, the Symphonette is a rewarding one to track down.
