Finding the right timepiece...

The Colt was Breitling's entry point for decades, the tough, no-frills tool watch that got you into the brand without the flagship price. Born in the 1980s, it kept things simple: a rugged case, a bidirectional rotating bezel with the brand's signature "rider tab" markers, and often a low-maintenance quartz movement. It never had the prestige of the Navitimer or the in-house muscle of the Chronomat, which was rather the point. Breitling phased it out around 2020, folding its accessible-tool-watch role into newer lines. Today it's a genuine bargain hunter's Breitling on the pre-owned market, and an easy, honest way into the brand's sportier side.
