Audemars Piguet Selfwinding

Code 11.59 is Audemars Piguet's modern round collection, and its deliberate attempt to prove it's more than the Royal Oak. Launched in 2019, it was born from a real problem: AP had become almost a one-watch company, and Code was the five-year project meant to give it a second pillar. The design hides its cleverness, a round bezel and caseback with a secret octagonal middle case between them, under a distinctive double-curved sapphire crystal. It spans simple time-only pieces up to serious complications. The launch was polarizing, since plenty of people expected more drama from an AP, but it's matured into a genuinely refined collection. It's also the rare corner of the brand where buying pre-owned tends to save you real money against retail.
